Principals' Exchange
The Elementary Presidents' and
Principals' Exchange offered the opportunity for
elementary PTA presidents and principals to share ideas of how they
are helping fit the pieces together for children. Mary Conner, SMAC
Elementary Coordinator facilitated the exchange of ideas. Some of
their many awesome and innovative program ideas are listed.

dish and recipe; a tasting party was held; recipes were
compiled and there was entertainment

as a service; involves families to make items that they
donate; lets students with very little money buy gifts for
family members; has been so successful that it has raised
funds which wasn't the intent;
items are priced very inexpensively |

Trailwood: Contacted 40 school
bakers to each bake 3 dozen cookies and then had a cookie exchange for
teachers without them having to bake the cookies; served cookies and
cider while the teachers selected their cookies

(November); student musicians volunteered to play during
lunch; posters were made "Now Performing
____________" |

"Gary Day"
(Gary is the custodian): Set up lounge chair and TV in
cafeteria where Gary sat during the lunch hour; brought a tray
of Gary's favorite lunch (from Burger King) ; hung a poster
proclaiming "Gary Day"; Gary spent the lunch period
relaxing while PTA volunteers cleaned the trays |

Wildwood parents provided a meal (chili, dessert, etc.) for
principal, teachers and others that went to Wildwood on day of
their return to take home to their families |

completed project, get a certificate stating that they are a
