Things You Need to Know About SMAC and PTA

• Offered through Kansas PTA for $155.00
• Coverage is from July 1-July 1
• A copy of the proof of insurance must be sent to Rusty Newman at McEachen Administrative Center before district facilities may be reserved for PTA events.

• Is available for the premium of $50 for $5,000 protection and $60 for $10,000 protection.
• Protects your unit against loss of money, securities, and other property through dishonest acts of any employee, officer, director, or volunteer.

Bylaws and Standing Rules 

The principal and president should each have a copy of the current Bylaws and Standing Rules.

Guide to selecting and planning a fund-raising project:

• Does it conform to the basic policies stated in the PTA Mission and Objects?
• Does it conform to the noncommercial, nonsectarian, and nonpartisan policies set forth in the PTA Bylaws?
• Is it an educational, social, recreational, or other activity that can serve as an example for children and youth?
• Will it create goodwill for PTA?
• Is the liability of the PTA and its members protected?
• If the project is held in a school building are school regulations, fire laws and safety precautions strictly observed?
• Is it approved by the general membership?
